The Section and its PGA Professionals will be providing free lessons to any of the attendees. It has been tradition to have our Section Professionals join the warriors/vets at the event. Please contact JB Ball at 612-801-8968 or jamesjbball@msn.com to participate. 08/22/2011 - 07:43 PM BROVOLD WINS AT DACOTAH RIDGE FOLLOWING 4-WAY PLAYOFF Tim Brovold from Bunker Hills GC, Scott McDonald from Windsong Farm GC, Matt Norgaard from Somerby GC and Brent Snyder from Troy Burne GC all shot 2-over par 74 in Assistant's Event #5. Those four went out for more golf to settle the tie and Tim Brovold emerged as the victor after a three hole sudden death playoff. In the Pro-Am portion of the event, Jesse Nelson from Deacon's Lodge and his partner Justin Simon teamed together to shoot a Best Ball score of 9-under par 63. 08/16/2011 - 11:28 AM 100 HOLES SUPPORTING SPECIAL OLYMPICS MN Nine Professionals played 100 holes of golf on Monday, August 15th at Town & Country Club in Saint Paul, MN to support Special Olympics Minnesota. The nine Professionals received pledges totaling more than $10,000 for their efforts. Thanks to PGA Professional Michael Herzog for coordinating the event. 08/03/2011 - 03:56 PM LANSING WINS WOMEN'S STATE OPEN Amateur Olivia Lansing from White Bear YC shot a two round total of even par, 144 to win the Minnesota Women's State Open at Hastings CC held August 2-3, 2011. Two strokes back was amateur Kim Kaufman from Elmwood Park GC and in a tie for third place was amateur Leigh Klasse from Meadowbrook GC and professional Elizabeth Stuart from Hillcrest GC. 07/24/2011 - 10:03 PM JOHNSON WINS MINNESOTA STATE OPEN Amateur Troy Johnson from Rush Creek Golf GC shot a three round total of 206, 10-under par to win the 2011 Minnesota State Open Championship at Rush Creek Golf Club. Due to three weather delays during Round 2 of the Championship, 78 players finished thier second rounds on Sunday, then those who made the cut started their Final Round in the afternoon. Johnson, who played 29 holes on Sunday, was 8-under par during that stretch which helped him claim the Championship. 07/12/2011 - 09:50 AM BROVOLD WINS AT FARGO Tim Brovold from Bunker Hills GC shot even par 72 to win Assistant's Event #4 at Fargo CC. Three strokes back were Kris Kroetsch from Fargo CC and Scott Sorvaag from Edgewood GC and alone in fourth place at 4-over par 76 was Mike Snow from The Pines. 07/06/2011 - 02:59 PM 2011 PGA PROFESSIONAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Congratulations to Section Professional Jeff Sorenson of Columbia GC on his 8th place finish at the 2011 PGA Professional National Championship held June 26th-29th at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA. By finishing in the top 20, Sorenson qualifies for the 2011 PGA Championship being held in August at Atlanta Athletic Club in Atlanta, GA. 06/14/2011 - 10:46 AM ROLLAND CAPTURES EVENT #3 Eric Rolland from Bent Creek GC fired a round of 4-under par 68 to capture Assistant's Event #3 at Rush Creek GC. One stroke back, and alone in second place, was Ben Meyers from Medina G&CC. 06/14/2011 - 08:18 AM TAPEMARK CHARITY PRO-AM Ben Freeman from Oxbow CC won the The 40th annual Tapemark Charity Pro-am June 10-12 at Southview Country Club in his professional debut. |
