Let your stance width determine ball position
Confused about ball position? You can find the ideal spot by simply adjusting your stance width depending on the club you're hitting. A good guideline for the stance is for the middle of your feet to be hip width for a pitching wedge, shoulder width for a 5-iron, and just outside the shoulders for a driver.

Once you set your stance, remember this: The ideal ball positions between a pitching wedge and a driver should vary by no more than three inches-about mid-stance for a wedge, a little farther forward for a 5-iron, and just inside the left instep for a driver.
